Do you provide only professional mental health therapy or biblical counseling?
EmPowered2Shift Counseling Services provides professional mental health therapy delivered by licensed, clinically trained therapists. Faith integration is available to clients who seek Christ-centered care and is thoughtfully integrated alongside evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Are your therapists licensed?
Yes. Our therapists are licensed mental health professionals with formal education, clinical training, and ongoing professional development. We adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards of care.
Is faith integration required?
No. Faith integration is always client-led and optional. We respect each individual’s beliefs and values and tailor care accordingly. EmPowered2Shift is a mental health agency known for offering Christ-centered counseling when desired, while remaining clinically grounded and individualized.
How do I get started?
You can begin by contacting us or requesting a consultation via our website. Additional details will be provided during the intake process.
Do you accept insurance?
The owner and CEO, Shakeeta Torres, is not credentialed with insurance companies. This means her services are private pay, with payment due at the time of service.
Other clinicians within the practice may accept select insurance plans in addition to private pay. We are happy to provide a superbill for clients to submit to their insurance company for potential reimbursement. We also accept FSA/HSA cards, credit cards, and debit cards.
Are therapy services considered a medical service?
Yes. Therapy is considered a medical service. Clients may consult a tax professional to determine whether therapy expenses qualify for tax purposes.
What states do you currently serve?
Currently, our team provides therapy services to clients who reside in North Carolina and Arkansas. We do not offer therapy services outside these states due to licensing regulations. We plan to expand to additional states in the future—please join our email list to stay informed.
